UCHIHAMONO UBUKEYA
-
A specialist in the production and retail of knives and bladed tools for professionals
-
Founded in 1783. The name "Ubukeya" comes from the Japanese "ubuke", meaning "soft, downy hair." The blades created by the founder of the store, Kinosuke, were said by customers to "even be able to shave (knives, razors), cut (scissors) or pull out (tweezers) the softest downy hair," and so that became the name of the store. We continue to retail based on the words left by our previous owner, "the only things we can't cut at Ubukeya are our connections to tweezers and our connections to our customers."
