TSUKUDA KOBASHI
-
A bridge in the city center with a retro vibe
-
In the "Edo Hogaku Anken Zukan" from 1679, Tsukuda Island is divided in an eastern and western island by a moat, and the bridge hangs in roughly the same position as now. The modern Tsukuda-kobashi Bridge was completed in 1984, with stone-clad sides arching out. The vermilion-lacquered bridge railing and ornamental cap lend a retro vibe.
